If you asked me today what I do, I’d say, “I Fly Kites”. Well it wasn’t always that way. I taught Math in the Boston Public Schools for 35 years. One day about 30 years ago, I was sitting on a beach in southern New Hampshire and I decided to buy a Kite. That was it…I was hooked. I started with flying Deltas and hanging what we call Laundry on the single line. I spent summers in Ogunquit Maine and my love for kite flying grew along with my collection. I than traveled to Newport RI where I met other kite flyers like myself. We flew kites together every weekend as long as there was no snow. I became known as the guy who likes to fly the biggest kites. The thing I like most about flying kites is the people it attracts. I enjoy meeting people and enjoy seeing their smiling faces as they watch my kites.
I recently retired from teaching school and I decided that I could not wait for summer in New England to fly kites. After convincing myself it was time for a change I moved to Florida. So here I am now on Boca Raton and Delray Beach Florida enjoying every minute I can on the beautiful beach flying kites. Come by anytime and watch my kites or better yet bring your own kites and fly alongside me. RANDY THE KITEMAN
